Eligibility is based on your year in the DNP Primary Care (DNP-PC) program and your clinical course enrollment: 

  • Year 2 DNP-PC students are eligible during NCLIN 516 and NCLIN 517 (Spring/Summer Cohort) 
  • Year 3 DNP-PC students are eligible during NCLIN 518 and NCLIN 801 (Autumn/Winter Cohort) 

In addition to timing, your clinical rotation site must be located in a Medically Underserved Area (MUA) or a rural area, as verified using HRSA tools (see FAQ 3 for details). 

Applications open approximately three weeks before the end of the preceding quarter, depending on your cohort: 

  • Spring/Summer Cohort (Year 2): Applications open three weeks before the end of Autumn Quarter 
  • Autumn/Winter Cohort (Year 3): Applications open three weeks before the end of Spring Quarter 

Students will receive an email notification with application details, and information will also be posted on the ANEW-WA Apply page. 

To be eligible for ANEW-WA funding, your clinical site must be located in a Medically Underserved Area (MUA) or a rural areanot just a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA). Use the following tools to confirm eligibility: 

To qualify, your clinical site must return a green check mark in at least one of these tools under “Rural” or “MUA/P”. If it does not, the site is not considered HRSA-eligible for ANEW-WA funding. Examples of eligible site output below:
