Miranda Montellano DNP, ARNP, CNM
I am an eight-year veteran of the United States Navy, having served overseas and on two deployments as a registered nurse (RN) in emergency medicine, flight nursing and labor and delivery. In 2012, I moved to Anacortes and began working as a labor and delivery nurse at Island Hospital, where I developed a love of the staff and community. I graduated from the University of Washington with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in midwifery in 2015. After becoming a certified nurse-midwife (CNM), I worked at Evergreen Health Midwifery Care, attending birth at Evergreen Health Medical Center in Kirkland, and Neighborcare Health, attending birth at Swedish First Hill in Seattle. I worked in Seattle for four years prior to opening Anacortes Midwifery Care in 2019. As a private practice nurse-midwife, I currently attend birth at IslandHealth, WhidbeyHealth and homebirth.
I strongly believe we need more nurse practitioners of all types in rural settings and want to encourage and foster this interest. I’m excited to be an advisor for a program with similar goals.
