Letitia Salazar Monk, DNP, CNM, CLC, CH, ARNP
Letitia Salazar Monk is a Certified Nurse Midwife and faculty for the UW School of Nursing Nurse Midwifery track. The focus of Dr. Salazar’s work is increasing access to midwifery care for those most affected by disparate care and outcomes. Her approach is rooted in Reproductive Justice which provides the framework for her work in community health and training nursing and midwifery students with tools to improve perinatal outcomes regardless of their field of practice. She is President of the Board of Midwives for Black Lives, an organization committed to improving perinatal outcomes for Black Families by providing scholarships for Black student midwives. Letitia understands the actual and potential impact midwifery care has on perinatal outcomes and believes this can be actualized by fostering inclusivity within the profession, research, education, scope and reach of midwifery providers.
